What motivated you to contact FNA?
I was referred to FNA by my GP. He thought I would benefit from some dietary and weight loss advice to help with my high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. I thought this was unnecessary, but after a few visits with FNA this changed my view entirely.
What were your perceptions about seeing a dietitian before you attended? Did these change as a result of your experience at FNA?
I was under the impression I could do this all by myself, but this wasn’t the case and on speaking with my FNA dietitian I felt like I actually had genuine and professional support.
What were your key goals in attending?
I wanted to lose a degree of weight and ideally reach a goal of around 72kg. I also wanted to eat the right foods to manage my blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
Had you tried any other approaches in the past and how did FNA’s approach differ for you/support you?
I had tried various approaches previously but I found FNA’s approach was better for me as I liked the personal support and individual attention I received. I could tailor appointments around my work schedule and also had one person to speak with which meant I had consistency in terms of follow up.
What do you particularly like about FNA’s services?
The personal touch – one on one. I actually looked forward to discussing my achievements. I was especially happy when I took a graph of my weight loss to the Doctor, who was also very pleased with the outcome.
How did you find the meal plan provided?
Excellent, and I was never hungry. It fitted in with the way I like to eat. I have to leave home very early in the morning and only manage to eat breakfast when I get into the city. The dietitian worked with my preferences and lifestyle so the plan was simple to follow.
What were the key things you learnt that had an impact on you achieving your results?
My dietitian would give me great tips, advising me to eat things that were appropriate to my circumstances, but selecting foods that I liked which made it so much easier. Everyone was very professional, supportive and friendly and would always give me a reminder when my appointment was due. This is good when one is so busy and can easily forget.
